Create with the world:

embrace the power of shaping change

"The times are urgent: let us slow down" - Bayo Akomolafe

We are all living in times of rapid change, uncertainty and global polycrises. With AI's proliferation, Tech professionals are in a unique challenge of your own, where its not clear where the industry will go and what that might mean for your future...

But may be, YOU want to go somewhere that is not on the trajectory of fast growth fascist capitalism gobbling up earth's resources without giving back.

May be somewhere that carries that old internet feel where you could lose yourself in a whole new world in an unknown corner of the web...

You want to go somewhere wilder... slower... interconnected... safe... nurturing...

May be you desire to be somewhere away from a computer where you can breathe and feel your body and remember your creative voice...

"Loved this coach! He curated a safe environment for sharing & vulnerability. I felt a sense of being understood at all times throughout, and offered coaching that helped me to tackle some ongoing challenges. Kadir's innate sense of empathy and care is clearly communicated to his clients. And he is the kind of coach that I know will continue to develop and hone his skills, which enables him to grow with his clients. I could not recommend this coach more highly!" — Tiara

My whole life has been a school for change.

From studying in 6 different schools to living in four countries.

From being married in a cis-het relationship to coming out as queer then as transgender.

Going through transition and literally molting my skin to reshape myself and birth myself.

From growing up as a computer nerd to working in tech as a Software Engineer and leading people as an Engineering Manager...to coaching, writing, tarot and intersectional practice where I birth my own frameworks, books and offerings.

Most of the time, change isn't a voluntary choice that we step into. It happens to us. We are rarely ready when it does.

When life throws stuff at me, I continue to experience the shock of not wanting to let go of what I thought was mine in order to step into what the change is calling me towards.

Sad feelings, tears and grief follow.

What I've noticed from my intentional practice of getting curious about what lives inside...

the discomfort, dissociation, shock, shame, worry, anxiety and grief that comes up in the face of major change---is that the more I can sit with it and

be present, the more information my body gives me about my deepest desires.

What if periods of uncertainty and change in your life became profound opportunities for meeting your most creative self?

What if we could open ourselves up to the gifts that change can bring, and did not have to hold on so tightly to everything we have today out of fear?

How will you become a partner of change?

"One of the reasons I like working with you is that you create space, and you have a way of not including yourself in the narrative, but still being there...But you're able to hold your own self and allow that person to also hold whatever they have or express whatever they have, and you're able to interject without interfering with that person's process and I found that very helpful because I don't necessarily think it's that we don't know the answers to what we need to do sometimes. I think we need encouragement and the space and the safety to explore those ideas without being talked out of it or talked in a certain direction. So we already know what we want. We already know what we feel. We already kind of deep down on some level. But maybe we're too afraid to say it. You gave me that space for that to come up." — Sola DaSilva

from the lineage of Octavia Butler's Parable of the Sower ("God is Change") and adrienne maree brown's Emergent Strategy

my worldbuilding education in coaching partnerships with Ayana Zaire Cotton at Seeda School and Ariana Felix,

my 5 year practice at Kolam Creative Collective supporting people through change work, facilitation and coaching to open up to the gifts of their leadership and creativity,

through being with and listening to books, plant medicine, trees, cats, ancestors,

building a deep practice of presence in my body-mind-deepest self,

where I've learned to go towards the gold that lives within what hurts to receive the wisdom of how I bring life back to those places I lost,

I birthed the framework of Transgressive Adaptation,

that holds the power of alchemizing your refusal into opportunities for meeting your most creative self,

inspired by the cycles of seed to seedhead that dandelions undergo,

woven with the principles of

Rootedness,

Sovereignty,

Intentional Transformation and

Nurturance.

This is the framework that powers all my creative and coaching offerings, and that will power our transformative work together in this workshop.

I'm Kadir Buvan, he/they, transformative coach, writer and change facilitator

and I started this practice in 2021.

I began by offering leadership and career coaching to tech professionals, and over the years this focus has expanded to include politicized art, creative writing, astrology, Tarot, somatics and facilitation.

I am a settler on Coast Salish lands, nestled in the mountains and forests and close to the ocean.

I grew up in TamilNadu, India, and speak தமிழ் Tamil and English. I am caste-privileged. I studied Information Technology as my undergraduate major, and moved from Chennai to New York, San Francisco, then Toronto, working as Software Engineer and then Engineering Manager over my decade of experience in Tech.

Art, leadership, tech, Black feminism, coaching, spiritual practice, divination, earth loving — all feed my practice where I weave these strands into braids of liberation.

"Kadir is a gifted coach and I feel fortunate to have worked with them. Their gentle and warm presence allowed me to quickly feel ready to delve deep into high impact topics that I hadn't felt safe enough to unpack until we partnered together. In our sessions, Kadir held space for me to explore, and offered insights and reflection that unlocked new perspective that continues to have a healing impact on me. I appreciate what this partnership with Kadir brought out in me, and I'm glad to know that others could benefit from their caring and skillful practice." — Sarah-Beth

How will you become a partner of Change?

This is your invitation to tap into the power of your inner guidance through Transgressive Adaptation.

A victim of God may, through learning adaption,
become a partner of God,
A victim of God may, through forethought and planning,
become a shaper of God.
Or a victim of God may, through shortsightedness and fear,
remain God's victim, God's plaything, God's prey.
- Octavia Butler, "God is Change", Parable of the Sower (from Lauren Olamina's Earthseed: The Books of the Living)

Create with the world: embrace the power of shaping Change, is a workshop for tech professionals with creative interests, who desire to ground in the deeper wisdom of the land in times of fascism, climate change and poly-crises.

In this workshop, you will learn to tap into the wisdom held within feelings of scarcity, uncertainty, hopelessness or doubt about the future---that currently keep you from your innate creativity and leadership strengths---so that you can open up into a playful partnership with change and a practice of hope for the future rooted in reciprocal relationship to the land.

We will go on a journey of Transgressive Adaptation through guided experiential practice and self coaching prompts to nurture your inner wisdom, so more of your creativity can come out and play.

What you'll get:

  • Attend the 90 minute live online workshop on Oct 10, 2026 at 1pm Pacific time, where you'll get to share space with people like you who dream of a slower, interconnected, creative life. On camera participation during is welcome and optional, there will always be ways to participate async via chat.

I'm so excited to meet you and shape change together - Kadir

"Heading into the workshop, I had a career goal of being promoted to senior engineer but I felt really unprepared and had little confidence in myself. This workshop was a huge breakthrough for me. I came out of it knowing how to ask for support, how to identify and vocalize my learning style and how to best work with my manager. Learning all these things helped build my confidence. I'm so grateful I had this opportunity and highly recommend it to others! — Keran Braich, participant in an earlier offering, "Confidence and Leadership skills for Software Engineers"
